InnoTrans 2024: ATRON focuses on modern ticketing and efficient control systems

Digitalization in the field of ticketing and control centre technology is progressing fast throughout Europe. From September 24 to 27, the ATRON Group will be presenting comprehensive software and hardware solutions that meet all requirements at InnoTrans 2024 at Stand 530 (Hall 2.1).

In the ticketing sector, the ATRON Group offers the full range of modern options. From simple paper ticketing to easy-to-use subscription systems to modern cashless electronic ticketing. With account- & ID-based ticketing, ATRON offers a particularly fast and highly reliable form of electronic ticketing. This opens up completely new possibilities for passengers, such as fare capping or best price offers. Especially non-local passengers and tourists benefit from the simplicity of the new options as they do not need a local app or a registration on a customer portal. Transport companies benefit from increased revenue and reduced sales costs in addition to improved public image.

Through efficient retrofit options, extensive new hardware replacement can largely be avoided in digitization measures. A purely software solution from ATRON, for example, makes long-used ticket machines fit for cashless payment services such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or Swish.

In the hardware sector, ATRON can more than meet all the requirements of transport companies. The cashless ticket machine AFA 150 is ideally suited for the comfortable and fast sale of paper and e-tickets on the platform or in the vehicle. It proves itself both in the tough everyday use at stations and stops and in customer centers and kiosks, where it can be used for customer-operated ticket sales with or without a printing unit. In the mobile version for buses and trams, the machine impresses with its elegant and compact design.

A key focus of this year's exhibition is the ATRON Transport Control System (ATCS). Since the introduction of the latest RX generation, the systems have been continuously adapted and enhanced to meet the needs of transport operators. The latest evolution stage includes the integration of current VDV interfaces 453 and 454, as well as Voice-over-IP. This has significantly improved both data exchange between systems and communication between vehicles and the control center. Additionally, the configuration and maintenance of the system have been revised to be more flexible and user-friendly. Further innovations will be introduced by the end of the year. These include real-time occupancy displays, enabling precise monitoring of vehicle load levels for efficient resource planning in the control center. Additionally, a function for proactive planning and implementation of measures is in the pipeline. This function will significantly reduce response times during actual disruptions. With these and other extensive enhancements to the ATRON Transport Control System, ATRON reinforces its leading role as a provider of cutting-edge tools for professional users in public transportation.
