ATRON enables integration of new payment methods in Schaffhausen
Passengers can now also pay with the cashless payment service TWINT at the ticket machines of Verkehrsbetriebe Schaffhausen (VBSH).
Since fall 2023, passengers have been able to pay for their tickets at all VBSH stationary and mobile ticket machines using TWINT. The fast and cost-effective implementation is based on a pure software solution from ATRON, which eliminates the need for costly retrofitting of the machines with payment terminals. In addition to the Swiss-specific solution with the TWINT payment function, implementation with Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Swish or other online payment services that are also widely used locally is also possible. The success of the project proves it right: the new function has already established itself in the first three months and now accounts for a significant proportion of cashless payments.
"I am delighted that we were able to successfully complete this innovative project together with VBSH. Adapting the existing infrastructure to modern requirements makes perfect sense, particularly in terms of sustainability. In addition to VBSH, other customers in Switzerland have already implemented this solution or will soon do so," says Georg Filipovic, Senior Sales Manager of the ATRON Group.
